Research Interests

Granular and granular-fluid flow. This covers high-energy flow, segregation and deposition mechanism through laboratory experiments and theoretical fluid dynamics. Pyroclastic flows. Field work on pristine flow deposits in Montserrat (West Indies), Gran Canaria (Spain), Thuringia (Germany), New Zealand and Indonesia. Lahars. Life-sized lahar experiment at Ruapehu, including geophysical and sedimentological approaches during and after the 18th March 2007 Lahar and the 25th September 2007 eruption.
